Recently, S4 pupils went on their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition! Starting and the Boar Hills, they walked the coastal path to Anstruther over two days. Camping out in freezing cold weather, on the 14th to the 15th of November and they managed to successfully complete it! The whole group enjoyed the trip led by Mr Thomson, who gave up his time to take them. The Duke of Edinburgh award is an award available to everyone ages 14-25 and there are 3 levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. To complete the Bronze you must volunteer, take part in physical activity and learn a new skill, choosing to do two of these for 3 months and one for 6 months. It is a great opportunity for everyone to develop life skills such as communication, teamwork and problem solving, as well as being a great thing to put on your CV!
